WHAT: Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Weather Closures/Cancellations of All In-Person Activities, Events, and Retail
Online winter activities are available (coming soon)
WHEN: Friday, January 23rd – Monday, January 26th
Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, in an abundance of caution and alignment with Governor Kemp’s State of Emergency declaration, will close, cancel, and reschedule all events, activities, and retail on Friday, January 23, beginning at 1 pm through Monday, January 26th.
Weather permitting, we will return to a regular schedule on Tuesday, January 27th. Stay informed via our homepage, Instagram or Facebook accounts. A complete list of everything impacted is below.
While we are disappointed to make these changes, we always prioritize the safety of our members and staff.
We urge you to follow your local television, radio and other news sources for the latest weather-related updates. Should you lose power, WSB-TV has a list of warming stations in the metro area.
Impacted Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta activities:
STEM Expo, scheduled for Saturday, January 24th, has been cancelled. If you are a volunteer, vendor, or Girl Scout attendee, an email containing additional information was sent on Thursday, January 22nd.
Girl Scout attendees may be eligible for a refund or may transfer the cost of their ticket to another Girl Scout event. For additional questions, please reach out to STEM@gsgatl.org
Girl Scout Shop and Mableton Service Center will close on Friday, January 23, at 1 p.m. and reopen Tuesday, January 27th, at 9 a.m., weather permitting. For additional questions, please reach out to Helpline@gsgatl.org or phone us at 800-771-1139.
Camping events: Troop Camping at Timber Ridge, Fairy Magic, Mine and Me at Meriwether and Laugh and Learn Volunteer Weekend at Misty Mountain have all been cancelled for this weekend.
