At Girl Scouts, your girl will discover what sparks her curiosity — whether that's butterfly walks, stargazing, launching a rocket, or diving into robotics. With experiences tailored to her grade level, she’ll make new friends and become part of a community that supports your whole family. There's a place for every girl here.

The next Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027. Annual membership dues are $65 for girl members and $30 for adult members. A $10 Council Service Fee for girl members will be due upon registration to support local programs. Financial aid is available. Girl Scout memberships must be renewed annually.

What is Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is more than an activity—it’s a Movement dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Why do girls love being Girl Scouts?
According to our 2024 Girl Scout Voices Count survey, 84% of girl members love being a part of Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts helps girls develop confidence by trying new things and overcoming challenges. In addition to learning about STEM, outdoor skills, entrepreneurship, and more, Girl Scouts also discover ways to strengthen their families and communities, making them kinder and better for everyone.

Girls can truly be themselves at Girl Scouts and find a sense of belonging.

How does it work? What’s a “troop”?
Groups of Girl Scouts, called troops, typically meet weekly or every other week for an hour or two. Guided by adult volunteers, troop members choose hands-on activities and projects that excite them, try new things, and cheer each other on. Together, they earn badges to celebrate their successes and show the world what they’re made of.

Girl Scouts can also participate in shorter program series, local events and camp, and on their own as an Individually Registered Member (IRM), also known as a Juliette. Individually Registered Members can earn badges and more based on their own schedule and interests.

What’s the goal?
To help Girl Scouts and adult volunteers develop their full potential, explore new interests, and develop skills to improve their communities.

When can I get started?
If your girl is ready to let her best self shine and start creating the world she wants to see, she’s ready to be a Girl Scout today. A Girl Scout membership year starts on October 1 and lasts until September 30 of the following year.

Who can join?
Girls in grades K–12 can join Girl Scouts. Adults who are 18 or older can join as members or volunteers after passing a background screening.

How can I get started?
When you're ready, you can join Girl Scouts at any time!

The annual membership fee is $45 for girls and $30 for adults. A $10 Council Service Fee for girl members will be due upon registration to support local programs.

A Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1 through September 30 of the following year, but you can join or renew early in April each year.

Is Financial Assistance available?

CareSource Members
CareSource now offers FREE Girl Membership for girls in grades K-12 and adults.

PeachState Members
PeachState now offers FREE Girl Scout membership for girls in grades K-12. PeachState requires subscribers to submit a request for a membership voucher and meet the following qualification requirements:

Must have completed a vision service plus Flu (Influenza) vaccine
Present voucher/gift card within the benefit year (July 1, 2026, through February 27, 2027)
Apply online or contact Member Service at 1-800-704-1484 ; TTY/TDD 1-800-255-0056

To apply, use the Girl Membership Financial Assistance Form and select your insurance provider when prompted. Adults with CareSource can also apply using the adult form.

Amerigroup Members toggle arrow

Starting this year, Amerigroup is introducing a Youth Club Membership Card as the new way for subscribers to access their Girl Scout membership benefit.

What this means for you:

Families will need to request the Youth Club Membership Card directly through Amerigroup Benefit Rewards Hub, located in member portal: https://member.amerigroup.com/public/login.
Subscribers will need to log into their secure portal and click on Benefit Rewards Hub.
Select Youth Club Membership Card – if eligible.
Amerigroup will mail the Youth Club Membership Card within 7-14 days for eligible subscribers.
Once you receive the card, you can use it to cover your Girl Scout membership fee when renewing or registering.
Eligibility has been updated from grades K–12 to ages 6–18, which may affect girls entering Kindergarten who are under 6 years old.

Lifetime Membership toggle arrow

You can champion the next generation of change-makers by investing in Girl Scouts and becoming a member for life. Your contribution will support Girl Scouts, which gives girls a place to prepare for a lifetime of leadership. And, by becoming a lifetime member, you're joining a group of like-minded supporters and contributing to Girl Scouts’ mission.

A Girl Scout Lifetime Membership costs $400 or, for alums under age 30 and currently registered volunteers with ten or more years of service, the cost is $200. Your lifetime membership donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
