Our research-proven and girl-centered programming focused on STEM, life skills, entrepreneurship, and the outdoors—our four programming pillars—equips girls with the skills and experiences needed today to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Additionally, our programs evolve with girls as they grow, turning each moment into an opportunity to create a lifelong, positive impact.

We’re looking for partner organizations to start new Girl Scout troops across the 34 counties we serve to amplify our mission and impact more girls.

Why Start A Partner-Led Girl Scout Troop In Your Community?

We believe every girl deserves the benefits Girl Scouts provides. But not every girl has the opportunity to participate. Finances, language, and technology can all create obstacles that stand in the way. Together, we can change that.

At Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, we are more committed than ever to expanding our resources and removing any barrier that stands in a girl’s way– but we need your help bringing Girl Scouting to your community.

By starting a Girl Scout troop in your school, faith-based organization, community center, or other youth-serving organization, you can help us meet girls where they are right now— regardless of circumstances.

Ready to get started?

Complete the following steps to provide opportunities for girls within your organization*.

Identify staff or volunteers to facilitate the program.
Valid background check required.
Identify a minimum of 12 girls to participate and return a registration form for each.
Attend an in-person or online training.
Choose a program start date.
Once you have completed the required training, we will provide supplemental program supplies so you can get started.

*Organizations must meet specific criteria.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is here to support your organization every step of the way! You’ll always have access to activity guides, toolkits, trainings, and other resources to help you plan an incredible year. We even have customizable Troop Year Plans to help you map out the Girl Scout year!

New Daisy (K-1) or Brownie (2-3) troop leaders can receive complimentary monthly Girl Scout Experience Boxes delivered right to their door. They’re filled with thoughtful script suggestions, step-by-step instructions, and ready-to-go supplies that make meeting planning a breeze. Receive a Welcome Box and up to seven monthly themed boxes, depending on the troop's start date. 

Want to start a troop for middle school or high school girls? Don’t worry—we have resources for you too, including a program curriculum and training from our staff.

Who can be a Girl Scout troop leader?
People of any gender with a sense of curiosity and adventure who are 18 or older, have joined Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, and have passed the council's volunteer screening process.

Is there a screening process to be a Girl Scout troop leader or volunteer?
Safety is a top priority for Girl Scouts. All activities are supervised, and we provide our volunteers with top-notch training and program resources. We also follow comprehensive safety guidelines tailored to individual activities and girls' ages.

How much does it cost?
For Membership Year 2026–2027, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta membership costs $65 for girls and $30 for adults. A $10 Council Service Fee for girl members will be due upon registration to support local programs. Additional fees may be necessary for individual troop dues, uniforms, special travel opportunities, and events. Financial assistance is available.
