Your Girl Scouts love being outdoors! You've taken day trips and visited parks and even spent a weekend cabin camping together - now they're ready for the next step: platform or pitch tent camping! This overnight class is designed to prepare you to help Girl Scouts plan and carry out a successful camping experience in platform or pitched tents. It allows adults to experience what your Girl Scouts will experience and provides an opportunity to build skills that will help make the experience enjoyable for all.
- This class is for: Adult volunteers
- This is an in-person, volunteer-led class. You'll receive a packing list from your instructor prior to class.
Location: Pine Acres Retreat (Acworth, GA)
This class takes place outdoors. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Prerequisite & Registration Note:
Outdoor Skills Level 3 requires prior completion of Outdoor Skills – Level 2: Cabin Camping & Fire Building (or Cabin Camping). All classes are subject to minimum enrollment; if the minimum is not met, the class may be canceled.
Note: This program is a part of our Volunteer Appreciation Weekend! When you register, you'll see the outline and information about the full program. You'll select: "Adult-Event + Outdoor Skills Level 3". Your registration will include attendance for the full day AND the Outdoor Skills Level 3 training in the evening. Feel free to participate where you are able during the day, as long as you arrive by 3:30pm.
