Get ready to travel the world without leaving Fayette County! International Day of the Girl Child: “Global Cultures, Voices, and Flavors,” a FREE, interactive celebration designed to inspire and empower girls. Girls will explore cultural passport stations featuring countries such as India, Mexico, Nigeria, Bosnia, Lebanon, and the USA, with hands-on activities including traditional clothing, textiles, art, music, and cultural traditions, plus opportunities to sample international foods. Participants will also enjoy a lively “Culture in Motion” music-and-dance challenge and a “Use Your Voice” activity where they can share their thoughts on girls’ rights, education, bullying, safety, and ending child marriage while discovering how their voices can make a difference around the world!
Please note that this event is hosted by Fayette County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a program partner of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, in Tyrone, GA.
