Looking for some STEM this summer? Create, explore, and experiment with one of these STEM Kits! Get hands-on and build a catapult or paper airplane, then figure out how to make it even better! Stump your friends with your marble maze, or explore colors and patterns with a spinning top! Each kit comes with easy-to-follow directions and the supplies you need to complete a fun, hands-on STEM activity with your Girl Scout. As a bonus, you'll also receive a badge guide for tips on how to use this kit to complete the Craft and Tinker Badge (for Daisies, Brownies, & Juniors).
These kits are great for Daisies, Brownies, or Juniors- check each individual description below for different levels by topic. These are great for individual Girl Scouts to do at home (with adult help), or to be used in a troop meeting! Each kit includes enough supplies for ONE Girl Scout- please order enough kits for each Girl Scout to have their own. Kits are available for pickup from the Mableton Service Center the week of July 28, OR you can have the kits mailed to you (for an additional fee). Please note that these kits are designed to be completed "on your own" and will NOT include a workshop.
Paper Airplane Kit (for Daisies, Brownies, & Juniors - grades K-5) Learn how to fold a paper airplane, then experiment to make it fly further! This kit can be used to earn the Brownie Mechanical Engineering: Fling Flyer Badge.
Catapult Kit (for Juniors - grades 4-5) Build your own "pom pom" catapult, then experiment to make it even more powerful!
Marble Maze Kit (for Daisies & Brownies - grades K-3) Build a marble maze (on a paper plate), then experiment to make it more challenging! This kit can be used to earn the Daisy Mechanical Engineering: Board Game Badge.
Spinning Tops Kit (for Brownies & Juniors - grades 2-5) Create a spinning top, then experiment with different colors and patterns!
Thanks to our partners at Hands On Atlanta, these kits are able to be offered at a lower cost to our members. Kits are limited, so register today! Email us at STEM@gsgatl.org with any additional questions.
