Attention Girl Scouts! Enjoy a day at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum. Our nation's primary sources like photographs, documents and political cartoons from the National Archives will illustrate how ordinary Americans like ourselves can exercise our constitutional rights and create change just like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., John Lewis and so many others did before us. Girl Scouts can earn the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library Civics Brigade badge while enjoying a morning at the museum and garden.
Museum educators will guide Girl Scouts through a large group presentation, followed by a self-guided museum scavenger hunt and an opportunity to explore the garden and complete a nature journal. The amazing library and museum are surrounded by 35 acres of ponds, local wildlife and rolling grounds for you to explore. Don’t miss the chance to visit Jimmy Carter's Oval Office, see a Nobel Peace Prize, and learn about our country's only President from Georgia!
This program is a civics-based education program open for Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors (grades 4-12), and will be hosted by our partners at the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum in midtown Atlanta. Each Girl Scout must be accompanied by an adult (parent, guardian, or Troop Leader) within typical safety ratios. Siblings within the same age range are welcome; please include them in this registration.
