Curious about coding?  Interested in AI? Join our partners at Accenture for a fun, interactive introduction!  Learn about coding and artificial intelligence (AI) while creating and coding your own virtual animated avatar.  Girl Scouts will train an AI model using Scratch, or a block coding language, to create their own code for these plugged-in activities.  No coding experience? No problem!  This workshop is perfect for beginners ready to try something new.

This workshop is for Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts (in grades 6-12) and will be hosted at the Mableton Service Center by our partners at Accenture.  All Girl Scouts will receive their Coding for Good: Coding Basics badge and a fun patch.  This is NOT a drop-off event; all Girl Scouts should be accompanied by an adult (parent, guardian, or Troop Leader) within typical safety ratios.  Adults are welcome to watch the workshop or wait in the parent lounge.  We encourage you to be ENGAGED, let your GIRL SCOUT take the LEAD, and HAVE FUN!

Girl Scouts will need a Chromebook or laptop with a working camera to complete these activities.  Girl Scouts are welcome to bring their own or borrow one from GSGATL- please note your preference in the registration.

Accenture and Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta are teaming with Code.org to support Hour of Code—a global educational movement that reaches more than 100 million students through a one-hour introduction to computer science.  Hour of Code is a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code," to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science.

Registration opens 10/14/24.  Please contact us at STEM@gsgatl.org if you have any questions.
