The Georgia Association For Women Lawyers (GAWL) is excited to once again host this annual Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta summer event. This year's two-day program will be for rising 9th - 12th grade Girl Scouts. Both days will take place at the Fulton County Juvenile Court.
Girls Lead in Law (Rising 9th-12th grade Girl Scouts)
Join fellow Girl Scouts in a two-day exploration of our legal system from a teenager's perspective. Rising 9th through 12th graders will participate in a mock trial with a real judge! Participants also will engage in career exploration and networking activities with some of the best female lawyers and judges in Atlanta. The event includes several impressive speakers and a tour of a courtroom in the United States federal courthouse. The girls will also attend a "mentor lunch" where each scout will be paired with a lawyer or law student.
This two-day event is sponsored by the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and will take place from 10am - 4pm on Monday June 16 and Tuesday June 17 at the Fulton County Juvenile Court building in downtown Atlanta. Participants will receive written mock trial materials prior to the event, which they should review beforehand. All participants must be able to attend both days. Parents are welcome to watch their Girl Scouts perform the mock trial on Tuesday afternoon and then mingle with the attorneys and judges at a reception immediately thereafter.
Lunch will be provided on both days.
This program is sponsored by the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL). Due to their support, we're able to provide this program at a significant discount. Please ensure that you are able to attend when you register, so that we can maximize attendance.
