Green Tie Guys have begun stepping up for girls in our community
Date: Thu Jun 29, 1:00 PM EST - Thu Jun 29, 4:00 PM EST
Did you know, Southface Institute and the Girl Scouts are working together to make buildings more sustainable? Together, we are upgrading Girls Scouts of Atlanta’s headquarters to be more energy efficient. But what does this mean?
Join us for a fun afternoon of STEM activities designed to inspire our next generation of sustainability leaders as we learn about sustainable practices, why they are important, and how you can practice sustainability at home! Participants will leave feeling inspired and with a sustainability fun patch, highlighting your commitment to saving our planet Earth! You'll learn more about how various materials get recycled, which you should reuse at home, and what composting can bloom into. Older Girl Scouts will get a sneak peek at Southface's apiary, with a chance to learn directly from beekeepers!
Your ticket enables Southface to inspire future generations. Thanks to the generosity of our members and sponsors, 100% of your ticket supports youth outreach – this year we welcome Girl Scouts of Atlanta to learn about our upcoming sustainability upgrades to Girl Scouts of Atlanta’s headquarters through Southface’s GoodUse program, why these upgrades are important for our planet, and how they can aspire to be women in sustainability.
This program is for ALL Girl Scout Levels. Be sure to include your Girl Scout level at registration so we can separate you into age-appropriate groups. This workshop will be hosted at Southface: 241 Pine Street NE, Atlanta GA 30308. Each Girl Scout must have an adult (parent, guardian, or Troop Leader) on-site. Space is limited so register today! All questions can be directed to us at STEM@gsgatl.org.
Please note that registration closes two weeks before the event to allow for planning, set up, and other preparations. Be sure to register early!
