Green Tie Guys have begun stepping up for girls in our community
Join our partners at Wish 4 Wash to explore period health and stigma! Explore different ways that periods are stigmatized today in our communities, brainstorm solutions to these problems, and create a prototype solution to present to the group. Through this design jam, you will work with current and former Georgia Tech students as they guide you through the process of human-centered, empathic design. We will use this innovative design thinking approach to address one of our modern world’s biggest problems: water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Participants will be provided with age-appropriate information about menstruation and a take-home period kit. We recommend this program for Girl Scouts who have already learned about menstruation at home or school.
This workshop is for 5th grade Juniors, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts (5th-12th grade). Seniors will earn their Women's Health badge by attending this workshop. The workshop will be hosted at the Mableton Service Center. Registration fee includes the Women's Health badge for Seniors or a fun patch for Juniors, Cadettes and Ambassadors, plus a take-home period kit. Each Girl Scout must have a responsible adult on-site (parent, guardian, or Troop Leader). This is a Girl Scout-only event; please do not bring siblings. Space is limited so register today! All questions can be directed to us at STEM@gsgatl.org. This workshop is hosted by our partners at Wish for Wash. Learn more here: www.wishforwash.com
