When you guide people or teach them something you know, you’re acting as a mentor. To earn the Cadette Program Aide mentoring award, a Girl Scout must complete three steps:
Complete one (1) LiA Award
Complete council-designed course training (this course). Part of this leadership course training will involve learning how to work with children and gaining a deeper understanding of a specialty area that you can use to complete the final step.
Work directly with younger girls over six activity sessions. This might be assisting girls on Journey activities (in addition to what you did for your LiA Award), badge activities or other sessions. You might work with a group at their troop meetings, at a day camp or during a special council event.
This course fulfills the requirements to complete the second step
as listed above.
This class is a busy and engaging 5.5 hours! Girls should bring their lunch, snacks and water bottles for the day’s activities.
Cost: $20.00 per participant
