Juliette Gordon Low Society

Juliette Gordon Low started Girl Scouts in 1912 in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia. The first troop was made up of 18 girls who all shared a sense of curiosity and a belief that they could do anything Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her generosity. She converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters and gave the historic property to Girl Scouts in her will. This gift was the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts.

In her memory, the Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who choose to make Girl Scouts a part of their legacies and a beneficiary of their estate plans.

With their foresight and planning, members of the Juliette Gordon Low Society ensure that our Council can provide future generations of Girl Scouts with opportunities to reach their full potential.

As a member of the Juliette Gordon Low Society, you will receive:

  • Recognition as a member of the Society.
  • Invitations to special events hosted by Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.
  • Updates about the work of Girl Scouts, nationwide and in your community.
  • The joy of knowing that your gift will impact girls for future generations.

Providing a planned gift to Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta can include naming Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta as beneficiary of a:

  • Will
  • Retirement Plan
  • Living Trust
  • Donor Advised Fund
  • Life Insurance Policy
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Remainder Gift of Real Estate
  • Any other gift that benefits Girl Scouts in the future
