Troop camping at our Girl Scout camps offers a special chance to bond, explore, and grow together in the great outdoors. From hiking trails to team-building activities and cozy campfire nights, your troop can create unforgettable memories while developing new skills and deepening connections.

How to Register for Troop Overnight Camping

Training Opportunities
Troop Camper volunteers can complete their training in person at camp or online through gsLearn. By earning the Troop Outdoor Certificate, volunteers will be fully prepared to lead outdoor adventures.

Required Certifications
Each troop must have:

One adult with the Troop Outdoor Certificate.
One adult with current First Aid/CPR certification.

Safety First
For all camping activities, safety is our priority:

Day Trips and Overnights: No additional training required.
Cabin Camping: Formerly known as Cabins, Lodges, and S’mores.
Platform and Pitched Tent Camping: If staying in a platform tent, pitched tent, or hammock unit, additional training is required. This training was formerly known as Platform Tent Camping with Firebuilding and Outdoor Cooking.

Membership and Background Checks
All attending adults must be registered Girl Scout members with a completed background check on file.

A deposit of 25% of the fees is due at time of registration. Deposits are non-refundable.

Troop Camping reservations for October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2027 opens on Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m.

Confirmation and Payment toggle arrow

Once your reservation is successfully completed, you will receive an email confirmation immediately, including all the details you need for your troop’s camping experience.

Final payment is due at least 30 days before your troop's camping date. Payments can be made conveniently online using a credit card or e-check by logging into your Doubleknot account.

Refund Policy toggle arrow

To receive a refund (excluding the non-refundable deposit), cancellations must be submitted via email to camp@gsgatl.org at least 30 days before your scheduled camp date.

Camps remain open in most weather conditions, and refunds are not issued for rain. Be sure to include rainy-day activities in your plans! In the event of severe weather, troop leaders should assess driving conditions and decide whether to delay travel until the following day. If the camp closes for any reason, the council will notify the leader, and a full refund will be issued.

Activity and Final Payment Policy

Once activities are confirmed, payment is required no later than 14 days before the camping date to avoid cancellation. Final participant numbers cannot be reduced within 14 days of the camping date. While we will do our best to accommodate additional participants when possible, refunds for reductions in group size will not be issued after this period due to pre-arranged preparations.

If an activity cannot safely run due to severe weather, a full refund will be issued. However, activities will continue in light rain, cold, or hot weather, so troops should come prepared. If an activity runs as scheduled and a troop chooses not to participate, no refund will be issued.
