Located in Metro Atlanta, Timber Ridge has been a magical spot for
generations of Girl Scouts for almost 100 years. From the camp’s
pristine lake and swimming pool to the archery range and extensive
challenge course, and the new STEM and Design Labs, Timber Ridge is
the hub for “camp magic” with a future focus that keeps girls coming
back week after week, year after year.
Winter Warriors Day: January 23
Calling all girls who can’t wait for winter
and the chance of snow! Come experience a new season at Timber Ridge
and learn new skills for surviving the outdoors in winter. Girls will
complete activities around The North Face Trail badges, learn some
messy snow science, make their own winter crafts, and have chances to
warm up with a project in our STEM lab! Come see if you have what it
takes to be a winter warrior!
This event is open to Juliettes, troops, or girls with a guardian!
This weekend might look different when compared to other weekends at
Timber Ridge because of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s guidance
regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but we will still have an amazing
weekend! We still love giving girls the chance to experience camp and
the outdoors and are striving to make this an experience you’ll love,
while keeping everyone safe.
Girl Scout Level: Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes
Winter Warriors Day: January 23
Girls Get Away Day: January 31
Girls Get Away is designed for girls to
complete the first two pieces of a GSUSA Journey series. Each Journey
is centered around a theme and has its own book that girls will use to
guide them. While the purpose of this event is to be educational in
order to complete the journey, we do work to ensure as much fun as
possible! Some of the topics tend to be more intense based on the
content covered, but our staff work to create a sense of fun around it
while making sure not to detract from the content. Each Journey
requires a large amount of book work along with hands on activities.
Please expect that campers will spend time sitting, talking,
discussing, and processing the content that is being covered. We will
ensure they get one classic camptivity outside (weather permitting).
We cannot guarantee which activities each group will do as it will
depend on staffing, girls attending, and weather. Girls will complete
all requirements up to the Take Action project. The Take Action
project will be up to individual or troop to complete on their own
time after this event.
