Male Donors Step Up to Support the Next Generation of Girl Leaders
New Initiative Mobilizes Male Allies to Close Gender Funding Gap
ATLANTA — Sept. 15, 2025 — Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta announced today the launch of its funding initiative, Green Tie Guys, to engage men in the support of Atlanta area girls. At a time when girl-serving organizations receive less than 3% of total donations, the need is greater than ever.
Individuals can support by either making a recurring or one-time tax-deductible donation through the Green Tie Guys donation webpage.
This is more than a fundraiser; it’s a statement to every Girl Scout that men in our community believe in her, invest in her, and want to see her succeed. Together, these leaders are raising critical support for:
- Girl Scout signature programs such as STEM Expo, the region's largest science event for girls
- Financial aid to ensure every girl, regardless of her financial situation, can experience this 100+ year leadership development program
- Life-changing experiences that help her discover her strengths and build her confidence, including outdoor adventures at one of our three resident camps and badge programs such as the recent Body Positivity and Financial Literacy badges
“Every dollar given by a father, mentor, colleague, or community leader sends a clear message: we believe in you, we see your potential, and we’re investing in your future. That kind of support is not only powerful, it’s transformative,” said Jai Ferrell, CEO of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.
