This program is designed for girls that are currently working towards their Silver and Gold Awards.  The workshops will consist of five two-hour interactive sessions (one per month) that enable these girls to develop their communication and leadership skills.  The program is presented by experts in their perceptive fields that coincides with our objectives.  Participants that attends all five sessions will receive a certificate of completion.  All girls that participate will be awarded the total amount of hours they invest in.  These hours will go towards their required hours for the Award they are pursuing.

Objectives:

By the end of the Leadership Series, girls will walk away with the knowledge of: 

  • How to overcome fears of speaking in public and how to write her Elevator Speech and when and why one is needed
  • Learning to effectively use her Gold Award for her future purpose
  • Networking and building a quality team through her community
  • Partnering with reputable organizations to Take Action on a Valid Community Need she has identified
  • Time management and organization skills

February 22

Overcome the Fears of Public Speaking

In this session, the presenter will be covering skills to learn to speak in public confidently and creating an Elevator Speech to introduce yourself and your Project Idea.

 

March 21

How to Leverage the High Awards for future use (College, Career, Military, Entrepreneurial)

In this session, the presenter will be teaching you how to use the Gold Award as a benefit for your future.  This includes sharing what schools are looking for in a potential student to include resume writing skills

 

April 18

How to Connect with Your Community to Network, Build and Work with Your Team

In this session, the presenter will share how to connect with your community and create a network and learn how to build your Gold Award Team with quality members

 

May 16

Meeting with Organizations for Partnerships to identify Valid Community Needs

In this session, the presenter will teach you how to partner with reputable organizations through Community Service to learn of Valid Community Needs, which will lead you to Taking Action beyond their service

 

June 20

Managing Your Time and Getting Organized

In this session, the presenter will teach the importance of being organized and effectively managing your time.
