Virtual Summer Camp Sessions

We are reimagining summer camp to be sure our girls can experience the richness of a camp experience even with the limitations of this crazy summer. The fun of connecting with your camp friends and the joy of receiving snail mail combine to create a one-of-a-kind experience for girls. Camp is Calling for you!

Camp is Calling offers five, week-long sessions for each age group, each with a unique theme, led by our creative camp staff, delivered to your home.

Each week, you’ll receive a box for your session. Inside you’ll find surprises and fun-filled activities, including STEAM-lovers, art enthusiasts, and nature aficionados! Plus, your invitation to join our online camp community app to connect with your camp friends. But don't worry—this virtual camp encourages limited screen time and instead, focuses on providing opportunities to explore new skills at home. You can register for a one-week session or as many weeks as you’d like.

Spend the week with us as you make new friends, explore, play games, and have fun!

Camp is Calling is $100 per weekly session, per girl/box and includes:

  • Session instructions, materials, and supplies to participate in activities and experiences for the specific session.
  • 1-2 hours of virtual and "unplugged" activities specific to your session each day for groups of 25.
  • Zoom into a traditional Morning Meeting complete with Flag Ceremony and Girl Scout traditions, afternoon Flag lowering with an end of day wrap-up and two All Camp Evening Programs with all of the week’s virtual campers.
  • Exclusive swag and goodies
  • Secure access to the GSGATL zoom app, a secure digital space that is computer, phone, and tablet friendly.

Camp experiences will be led by the Camp Teams from Meriwether, Misty Mountain, and Timber Ridge. This summer will be like no other because you get to travel virtually to all three properties to experience unique traditions at each of our amazing camps.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta thanks our Camp Champion sponsor, Accenture, for their support of our virtual camp programs this summer. Their support will give all girls, especially those from our most vulnerable communities, an opportunity to enjoy an authentic camp experience from home.

Easy registration is available for GSGATL members through the Doubleknot Program Event Software. All girls are welcome to participate. If you are not a current member of Girl Scouts a $25 membership fee will be added to your final balance. Payment options include credit card, 2019 or 2020 Cookie Dough (must be mailed in with a copy of your invoice) or financial aid. Please note: Financial aid is limited; decisions will be processed within 2 weeks of submission. The link for the financial aid application is in your confirmation after you register for your virtual camp session.

Daisy Splashin' Around

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. June 15 - 19

Get ready to splash around in your own backyard and learn all about the water around you. With this water fun box, you’ll learn about water conservation (that means using water wisely), splash around outside with a water balloon relay, and create your own watercolor masterpiece!

Parent/Guardian Involvement: You can expect to have some light parent/older sibling involvement in this session with your camper. We are estimating about 1 hour of time during the week they will need your assistance with the activities included. Girls will also participate in a 9:30 am program to get the day started each day of this week.

Daisy Animal Round Up

We are headed out into our backyards and neighborhoods to see what animals are in our world. Along the way, we will meet some of the horses down at Camp Meriwether and learn about how our barn staff keeps them healthy, practice keeping our own furry friends clean, make some simple treats, go birdwatching, and explore to see which other animals live in our own backyards!

Parent/Guardian Involvement: You can expect to have some light parent/older sibling involvement during this session with your camper. We are estimating about 1 hour of time during the week they will need your assistance with the activities included. Girls will also participate in a 9:30 am program to get the day started each day of this week.

Daisy Lets Cook!

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. July 6 - 10
Grades: K - 1st

Register for Week 3 Session

Join us as we build skills in the kitchen and enjoy some tasty treats! You’ll receive some camper friendly kitchen tools, recipes, along with some extra goodies so you can customize your cooking experience. In this session you will decorate your own apron, create healthy snacks (with treats too), and have your family taste test your creations. Each day we will try out a new cooking skill as we explore a variety of foods. Grab your chef's hat and a spatula to whip up some fun!

Parent/Guardian Involvement: This camp session will require heavy parent/older sibling involvement. Your camper will need help prepping ingredients and shopping for the food items needed to complete the activities in this session. You can expect some time live on zoom cooking with a camp staff member and sometimes she will make the recipe with you and share it on the Zoom call. Girls will also participate in a 9:30 am program to get the day started each day of this week.

Daisy Build It, Move It, Create It

We will spend the week exploring a variety of different areas in the STEM world. We will explore the basics of robotics, learn about circuits and make a circuit, learn about simple coding, and so much more. This week will be hands on and interactive with camp staff via Zoom to help your camper become more comfortable with the STEM concepts and earn badges.

Parent/Guardian Involvement: We are expecting moderate parent/older sibling involvement with this session. You can expect up to 2 hours of your time will be needed to help your camper complete badge focused activities. Girls will also participate in a 9:30 am program to get the day started each day of this week.

Daisy Gear Up!

Register for Week 5 Session

Spend the week preparing for the Ultimate Camp In. Build your family’s outdoor skills as you practice lighting a match, building a s’more fire, tying knots, basic first aid, knife safety and campfire cooking. Each day our camp staff will demo a new skill, be available mid-day if you need help, and meet with you in the evening to chat about the adventures you experienced. This session will turn any novice camper into an expert! The GSGATL Family Camp In will take place July 24 at 4 p.m. through July 25 at noon.

Parent/Guardian Involvement: This session is intended to have full family involvement throughout the week.

Cadette Program Aide

Register for Week 1 Session

Step into a leadership role this week as you work to earn your Program Aide Pin and LiA Award! Girls will spend the week sharing their organizational skills, demonstrating their own special talents, and learning to teach Brownies something important from one of the journeys. They will spend time learning leadership skills, learning how to lead activities online and in person, and spend time helping girls learn new skills. After completion of this one-week program, Program Aids will also engage in a second week by guiding Brownie Girl Scouts through one of their virtual camp sessions. They will get to sign up for a week in July that fits their family’s schedule. Girls will connect with each other and with our camp staff virtually.

Learn and practice various skills such as knot tying, knife skills, tarp huts, outdoor cooking, fire building, and other important survival skills to build your confidence in the wild. By the end of your time with us, you will be ready to take on the next big adventure!

Cadettes will work on skills included in the Trailblazing Badge.

Older Girl Virtual Equestrian Academy

Grades: 6th - 12th

Register for Week 5 Session

Calling all horse girls to take a weeklong deep dive into the life of an equestrian specialist! During this session, learn more about horses and the intensive care that goes into keeping them healthy. Throughout this week, you will learn the skills that it takes to train and groom the horses that live and work at our camps. You will also get the chance to meet professionals that work with our horses such as a farrier and an equine veterinarian.

Cadettes will work on skills included in the Animal Helpers badge and Seniors will work on skills in the Voice for Animals Badge.

Parent/Guardian Involvement: This program is designed to be girl-led and accomplished independently. You will want to check in to see their newfound confidence and equine knowledge!

Family Camp Box

If you choose a Family Camp Box, you will have access to the activities in your box and a Live Zoom Family Program on Wednesday Night from 7-8 pm. Some boxes have very specific live sessions, while others will have a family Dance Party, Bingo Night, or Trivia Night. The boxes with specific live programs include the Keep Calm and Camp On (Yoga Night) and Family Recess (Canvas Painting Party) sessions. Family box campers will also be invited to join an exclusive Facebook Group so you can communicate with the camp team and other family campers. This will be the perfect place to ask questions or share pictures of your family’s exciting camp experiences.

Family Take the Challenge - Maker Space At Home

Grades: K - 12th + Adults

Spend time bonding with your family while you take on these fun and exciting challenges. This box will be filled with a variety of challenges for your family to complete throughout the week. Post your family's completed challenge in the Facebook group designed just for you, and we will vote for the families in the group to pick the winner for the different challenges. Join us and create some friendly family competition!

Family boxes will contain supplies for a family of 4 and you should only register for one session per family of 4.

Family Keep Calm and Camp On

Grades: K - 12th + Adults

Bring some of the fun, more relaxing summer camp traditions to your family in your very own living room! Do a calming craft, enjoy a facial, and snack on a healthy morsel while joining your family for a Wednesday night movie. Throughout the week, you’ll also enjoy a live yoga session with other camp families and get inspired every morning with a motivational message and songs from our amazing camp staff. Close out your week with a good ole’ fashioned summer camp talent show where you can showcase a skit, your favorite dance moves, or sing a song. The stage is yours!

Parent/Guardian Involvement: These Family Sessions are designed to engage the entire family throughout the week.

Family boxes will contain supplies for a family of 4 and you should only register for one session per family of 4.

Family Recess- Beat the Heat

July 6 - 10
Grades: K - 12th + Adults

Register for Week 3 Session

Spend time each day with your family participating in some of our favorite “turtle time” activities! These slow and meaningful activities will include daily table topics to inspire discussions, card and board games (including one YOU design), Penelope's and Sparkles Canvas Paint Party Live with Penelope, Sparkles and camp staff. At the end of the week, participate in a virtual “Black box theater” with family skits that are sure to inspire laughter!

Family Gear Up!

July 20 - 24
Grades: K - 12th + Adults

Register for Week 5 Session

Spend the week preparing for the Ultimate Camp In. Build your family’s outdoor skills as you practice lighting a match, building a s’more fire, tying knots, basic first aid, knife safety and campfire cooking. Each day our camp staff will demo a new skill, be available mid-day if you need help, and meet with you in the evening to chat about the adventures you made. This session will turn any novice camper into an expert! The GSGATL Camp In will take place July 24th from 4pm on during the evening. This box is intended to have full family involvement throughout the week and expect the kit to contain one pocket knife for this experience.
