Mountain Jubilee

Spend the weekend at beautiful Camp Misty Mountain in Armuchee, GA. Come as just the two of you or get all the troop dads in on the action.

Girls and their dads, uncles, grandfathers, or other special men in their lives will be able to choose their accommodations and enjoy preparing meals together at their site. Bring your own traditional camping equipment (portable grill/smoker, propane stove or use an old fashioned camp fire) to make your meals.

Make lasting memories while trying fun activities like archery, canoeing, screen printing, candle-making, and outdoor games. Additional activities are offered for a small fee, including horseback riding and the challenge tower.

Also enjoy a traditional campfire night, the extremely popular talent show, and wrap things up with an optional tasty Sunday breakfast buffet to reflect on the lasting memories made together.

BACK AGAIN IN 2018 ! FAMILY JUBILEE OCTOBER 12-14!

After a very successful first year in 2017, we’re happy to be continuing a family camp option for Mountain Jubilee. During the FOURTH WEEKEND, October 12-14, 2018, Family Jubilee will accept registrations from men, women, girls, and boys. Of course, you can still attend as a “Dad and Daughter” Duo for this weekend as well.

*Mountain Jubilee weekends are limited to fathers and daughters. We ask that all mothers and sons make plans to camp with us during Family Jubilee, October 12-14.*

Price: $35 per person up to two weeks before the event; $50 per person two weeks prior to the event

  • Insurance and staff to assist with activities

Additional activities are available for a small charge including equestrian* and adventure* activities as listed below.

Accommodations

Troop Cabin
PRICE: $250, for a group of 16–28 people
How to reserve: one person from the troop Call 770-702-9140 starting June 20 9 a.m. to reserve a cabin until they fill up

Three cabin units are available for each weekend, which have a complete kitchen (dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc.), a family room and a shower/bathroom with multiple stalls.

Bunkhouse Cabin
PRICE: $10 per bed
How to Reserve: During the online event registration

The fifth cabin unit will be dedicated to individual dad and daughter pairs. Dads will use the bunkroom on one side and daughters will be on the opposite side. A family room and kitchen separates the bunkrooms. There are two bathrooms with the smaller being dedicated to dads. Max 24 people.

Platform Tents
PRICE: $5.00 per person
How to Reserve: During the online event registration

Platform tents in Beeches, Oak Ledge, Pasture Ridge, Sweet Gum Hollow units are large walled canvas tents with wooden floors and five cots and mattresses. There are 20 platform tents within our four units.

Bring Your Own Tent or Camper
PRICE: No Additional Charge
How to Reserve: During the online event registration

Three open fields (choose your location when you arrive at camp) are dedicated to guests who want to bring their own tent or camper:

Pear Tree Pasture: A smaller pasture near canoe beach and the archery range –very popular and just a short bike or walk away from activities.

Lower Pasture: Reserved for our larger RV’s and anyone with a generator – next to the Farmhouse, also a short walk or bike to activities.

Open Pasture: The largest of the three fields where most of our campers pitch tents, right in the middle of all the action.

PLEASE NOTE: You may not pitch a tent in a cabin or platform tent unit. If you have a large recreation vehicle or any vehicle with a generator, there are location restrictions and time frames for generator use. We are not a campground and do not have power, water or sewer hookups for RV’s. Small campers, such as pop-ups and pick-up trucks, are allowed in pasture.

Sunday Breakfast Buffet
PRICE: $10 per person (girl or adult)

Top off the weekend with a delicious breakfast buffet in the camp dining hall. Menu options will include several hot entree choices as well as cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, assorted pastries, bagels and cream cheese, milk, juice, hot chocolate and coffee. Breakfast is available from 8 - 10 a.m.
Maximum 400 people.

Leather Craft
PRICE: $5 per project

Choose a leather craft project at camp: wristbands, bookmarks, coasters or key chains. Purchase from the Camp Store at the Red Tent at camp.

Tote Bags to Silk-Screen
PRICE: $5 per tote bag

These white tote bags are perfect for silk screening. Cost $5 per tote bag. You may bring a t-shirt to silk screen at no charge, or purchase a bag or tee shirt from the Camp Store at the Red Tent at camp.

Challenge Tower & Climbing Wall
PRICE: $5/climb OR 5 climbs for $20

Climb the portable climbing wall! You can purchase climb tickets at camp from the Camp Store at the Red Tent, or right at the climbing wall itself.

Horseback Riding Activities & Fees

Horseback riding is a very popular activity and to accommodate as many folks as possible, early morning Saturday and Sunday morning rides are needed. Sign up times are available on a first come first serve basis at check-in. All participants must wear long pants and shoe/boot with a 1/2" heel. Limited loaner boots are available. Helmets are provided.

Riding Lesson (grades 4–12th)
PRICE: $25 per girl

Girl Scouts in 4th – 12th grade for the 2018-2019 school year may register for an arena lesson. This lesson will include safety orientation, boot and helmet fitting, and ground lesson in addition to riding time. Due to the busy schedule, Mountain Jubilee’s Riding Lessons are ALL geared toward beginner riders. No intermediate or advanced lessons are scheduled during these events.

Dad-Led Pony Trail Ride (grades K-3rd)
PRICE: $15 per girl

Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts in grades K-3 will love having their dads lead them, accompanied by staff instructors, on a short wooded trail ride.

Trail Ride (grades 6th - 12th and Adults)
PRICE: $25 per person

Dads and daughters or families will have the chance to ride together! Girls who are in 6th - 12th grade and their Dads will take a short "how to" lesson in the arena before going out on the trail. Due to the mixed abilities in riding groups all rides will be at the walk only. Registration is PER PERSON. Be sure to register each girl and adult who would like to ride.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a very popular activity. Reservations are first come-first serve. If you are not placed initially, ask at check-in if space has become available.


Volunteer Opportunities

It takes our whole community working together to make each weekend a success. We ask every family to sign up for at least one volunteer block. There are a wide range of ways to help out, and most are just in a quick hour and fifteen minute blocks.

Activity Areas: Help lead an activity station– stations might include: candle making, leather craft, canoeing, lanyard making, screen printing, tie-dye, weird science, canoeing, challenge tower, equine center, or the backyard carnival! Volunteer assignments last just 75 minutes.

First Aider: Work as part of the first aid team- we generally have 4-6 first aiders on duty each weekend. This involves carrying a radio and first aid kit, and responding to anyone in need near to you throughout the day. You’re able to carry on in normal activities. We welcome those certified in CPR/FA, EMTs, Nurses, Physicians, and other qualified responders. These volunteers remain on call throughout the weekend.

Dining Hall Crew: Help with set up and clean up and assisting at the meal. 10-15 families are needed each weekend. (Meals will not be provided to volunteers.) Be prepared to sign up for one of three shifts, each just 75 minutes.

Campsite Captains: Each living area has a Campsite Captain designated. These families are experienced Mountain Jubilee attendees who are happy to provide support, answer questions, and keep an eye out for any challenges in their part of camp and go about their day normally, remaining on call throughout the weekend.

Information Station/Trading Post: Hang out with the staff and other volunteers at Red Tent assisting with check in, providing info and directions, checking out equipment, and running the Trading Post (camp store) station. These shifts last just 75 minutes.
