Dear Girl Scout Family,

On January 1, you and/or your customers might have experienced a minor issue with Digital Cookie regarding the option to purchase donated cookies for our Smiles4Military Program. The system error allowed customers to add donated cookies to their order, however failed to charge them for these cookies during checkout. This error was corrected and was properly showing/charging the appropriate $4 per box by mid-day January 2.

What does this mean for you?

  • GSGATL will be adjusting your online order history to remove the donated boxes that were not paid for by your customers at checkout during this timeframe.
  • GSGATL in conjunction with GSUSA’s Digital Cookie team will contact your impacted customers explaining the order error and asking them to revisit your Digital Cookie site to make their donation purchase as intended.

Your next steps?
Hold tight... GSGATL and the GSUSA Digital Cookie team are working to resolve the order error behind the scenes. Your customers should be able to proceed to your online cookie page to place their original donation order with ease.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and apologize for the inconvenience to you and your customers for the system glitch.

Below is the messaging that your customers who had donated boxes as part of their order from January 1 through mid-day January 2 will receive. This message is scheduled to send to all impacted customers over the next two business days.

Sample message to impacted customer:

Dear John,

Thank you for your recent purchase of Girl Scout Cookies on January 1; order number #635999. As you might have noticed during checkout, your donated cookies rang up at no charge ($0.00) which was an error, while all other cookies (if ordered for shipping and/or in-person delivery) processed just fine. Since you were able to continue to checkout without a cost generating for your donated cookies, you were not charged for them ($4/box), meaning your Girl Scout did not receive credit for this portion of your order.

Please support Susie and the council’s Smiles4Military donation program by returning to her online site digitalcookie.susie and make your 4 box donation purchase where we will ensure that your payment is received, and your favorite Girl Scout receives credit for your donation which will help her reach her goal.

We hope you will make the effort to purchase these donated cookies to support Susie and Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s Smiles4Military donation program; which will ultimately provide this once-a -year sweet treat to our military personnel serving at home and abroad.

We apologize for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your support of the largest girl-led business in the world and the mission of Girl Scouts.
