The national office of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), located in New
York City, employs roughly 300 employees. GSUSA is a member of the
World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
As a link with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from other WAGGGS member
countries, Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors have an official,
neckerchief-style scarf to wear with their uniform.
(The “left handshake” unites Guides and Girl Scouts in every WAGGGS
WAGGGS, World Association: both refer to the World Association of
Girl Guides and Girl Scouts; WAGGGS is the acronym.
